Can you hear me on that side?!

"Life is not fragmented, as envisioned by modern science, but rather that all the pieces make up an interconnected whole."
- The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Medicine

Communication in life is paramount. When communication is not running like a well oiled machine, that's when systems begin to break down; too much is left open to interpretation or we completely miss the messages being delivered to us.

This applies to our interactions with others as well as ourselves. Everything we interact with communicates with us on some level, those moments are woven into the fabric of our being.

Many times we say we never saw it coming, when in reality if we listened more closely, certain events wouldn't come as a surprise.

That being said, our body is magnificent; what it is able to endure throughout a lifetime is astonishing. If we get quiet and listen closely, we won't miss the signals it sends us before something bigger decides to manifests within.

So lets be kind and apply our listening skills to our body.

This week I have been on the move. Having moments where I so badly want to take a nap but unsent emails, errands and the like, aren't magically going to take care of themselves.

Even if the day seems to slip away, I still set aside a moment to recharge with my self-help. A favorite of mine that I have been teaching this week is called theMediator Flow

This self-help flow ensures open lines of communication between the right and left sides of the body, hence the name Mediator. We all know how it feels when one side ends up carrying more of the weight.

Here's how you can provide an opportunity for your body to have a nice friendly chat:

Instructions: -Find a comfortable place to sit, stand or lay down -Bring knees together to touch -Place LEFT hand on RIGHT shoulder -Take LEFT THUMB and place it on top of LEFT RING fingernail (will look like a mini circle) -Relax in this position for 2-5 minutes, establishing a nice tempo of breath -Switch arms/hand positions for opposite side. Keep knees together.

Life flows more smoothly when there is balance, peace and harmony. Wishing you all a beautiful rest of your week/weekend.
