When Life Gives You Lemons

Hi, how are you doing?
I hope you're feeling good and finding your rhythm again after the elections.

As for me, I was feeling like this:

Slightly mopey with a dash of confused.

Not to worry though, I have since picked myself and organized a game plan out of this slump.

The slightly mopey feeling could've been enhanced by a resistance to return home from the magical Azore Islands in Portugal.

Not sure how you define a fairy tale place but for me, the Azores is it.

Not sure how you define a fairy tale place but for me, the Azores is it.

There were rolling green hills that seem to glow with an illumination from the inside, the view from our bedroom window (in a castle) was an image straight out of a romantic novel and the people were just lovely; living in New York you forget what genuine nicety is.

While there I had time to assess how things were going in my life.

The verdict:
They aren't bad but an increased level of efficiency could definitely be enacted.

I mean, who wants to be operating in a zone of mediocrity because they are scared to take the next leap?

I sure as heck don't!

So what'd I do?
I sat down to have an honest conversation with myself about how my actions are having an affect on my outcome.

My findings:
A disproportionate amount of talk versus effective and efficient action.

While I've been spinning my wheels, I have also been dabbling in the art of comparing myself to others. Lemme tell you, this is the kiss of death!!!
Quickest way to unhappiness, jealously and envy.

Believe me, I've been down that road before.

So where does all this leave me?
Acknowledging that a changed needed to happen was the most important step.To do something that has never been done, requires you to step outside of your comfort zone.

My steps to getting over my terrifying feeling of failure is to now dive head first into it. Currently, that is making videos for Jin Shin Jyutsu. I had no idea where to even start improving till I received help from my friend Miguel. We worked on my camera presence while in Portugal. It was a very vulnerable experience, I felt so exposed and dumb for not being good right off the bat. I even cried!

By the end of the trip I was equipped with a clear plan and the tools to be successful. I now work on my videos everyday, I even sprang for recording myself singing! You thought hearing your own voice was scary, try singing with no music.

Throughout life we are going to encounter situations that seem difficult to navigate. Don't let the task ahead of you, get in the way of you trying.

The Jin Shin I have been utilizing the most is holding my 13's and it's no surprise why. Your 13's help remove the blocks to your creativity.  For any of you who find yourself feeling stuck on a creative plateau this hold is
for you!

As you're holding envision the blocks melting away, believing you are worthy of achieving whatever you put your mind too.

So much love to you all. Have a wonderful holiday :)
